A Fish Aggregating Device (FAD) has been deployed in Th. Buruni.
According to the Fisheries Ministry, the FAD was deployed yesterday, 4.5 miles north of the island.
Buruni FAD Re-deployed
The FAD number is 01-K09V01.
A FAD was re-deployed in Buruni following the loss of the FAD deployed in April last year. At that time, the FAD was deployed 5.6 miles northeast of the island.
FADs established at a distance of between 3 and 6 miles around the islands are special FADs for trolling and sports fishing. The FAD is designed with a light visible from afar and a radar reflector to easily identify its location.
