The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC), the contractor for the project, has stated that the design and development of the Sh. Bileffahi harbour is nearing completion.
Sharing the latest updates on the project, MTCC stated that the profiling of the channel breakwater is currently underway under the harbour development project. The company also noted that 94 percent of the overall project has now been completed.
The MVR 28.42 million project was awarded to MTCC on December 10, 2019. The site was mobilized and work commenced on January 18, 2021.
Under this project, dredging operations of 24,125 cubic meters will be conducted, along with the construction of a 376-meter breakwater, a 98-meter quay wall, a 1,150-square meter paved area, and the installation of streetlights.
In addition to the Bileffahi harbour project, MTCC is currently undertaking harbour development projects in several other islands.
