Beaching boats in the R. Angolhitheemu swimming area has been banned.
The council stated that beaching boats in the swimming area to scrape moss, conduct maintenance, and apply oil and antifouling paint compromises the cleanliness of the place and makes it dirty. Furthermore, the council noted that materials such as logs and tarpaulins are often left scattered around, causing significant inconvenience to those using the area, especially children.
The Ungoofaaru council stated that due to these reasons, beaching any vessel between the breakwaters at both ends of the swimming area is now prohibited. The council also stated that it is forbidden to bring vessels into the water in that area to scrape moss, change oil, or do anything else that would pollute the water.
