Bad weather expected across all parts of the Maldives today!

The Maldives Meteorological Service (MET) has forecast bad weather for all regions of the Maldives today.

Forecasting the weather until 18:00 this evening, the agency stated that rain is expected in various parts of the north, with heavy showers and thunderstorms likely in some islands. It also forecast scattered showers and thunderstorms for central and southern regions.

Winds are expected to blow from the south and southwest at 5 to 15 miles per hour in the southern atolls. For other areas, winds will blow from the southwest and west at 8 to 18 miles per hour, with gusts up to 40 miles per hour during showers.

Seas in the south are expected to be slight, while seas in other areas will be moderate, becoming rough during showers, according to the Maldives Meteorological Service.
