Bad weather expected across all parts of the Maldives over the weekend: MET

The Maldives Meteorological Service (MET Office) has stated that weather conditions will deteriorate across all regions of the Maldives during the weekend.

The MET Office said that over the next two days, rain and thunderstorms are expected in the northern atolls, while strong winds and rain are expected in the southern and central atolls. The MET Office also stated that the weather is expected to clear up by next Monday.

As the upcoming period coincides with school holidays, the number of travelers is expected to increase, and the MET Office has advised seafarers to be cautious of the weather.

While bad weather is expected across all parts of the Maldives in the coming days, a White Alert has already been issued for all atolls except HA and HDh atolls. Strong winds and rough seas are expected in some of the atolls under the alert, while others are expected to experience rain and thunderstorms with wind gusts up to 45 mph during showers.
