The National Meteorological Centre has stated that strong winds and rough seas will be experienced across various parts of the Maldives today as well.
Forecasting the weather for the next 24 hours, the authority stated that some islands will experience showers before noon, with rain and possible thunderstorms expected in the afternoon.
Winds are expected to blow from the west and northwest at speeds between 13 to 23 miles per hour. The National Meteorological Centre also stated that winds may gust up to approximately 45 miles per hour during showers.
The Met Office stated that seas will be rough, with wave heights expected to be between 4 to 7 feet.
The Maldives is currently experiencing the Southwest Monsoon rains. As bad weather is expected across various regions today as well, the National Meteorological Centre has urged seafarers to be cautious of the weather.
