Attention! Seas remain rough today

The Maldives Meteorological Service has stated that various parts of the country will experience rain and rough seas today.

The department said that heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected in some islands. Furthermore, winds are expected to blow from the west and northwest at speeds between 13 to 23 miles per hour, with gusts potentially reaching up to 40 miles per hour during squalls.

The department has also forecasted rough seas today. Wave heights are expected to be between 4 to 7 feet.

Anticipating strong winds and rough seas, the department has issued a White Alert from HA. Atoll to Th. Atoll. The alert is effective until 12:00 PM, and heavy rain with thunderstorms is expected in the area during this period.

Due to the bad weather, the Met Office has urged everyone to be cautious of the weather conditions.
