The Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) has commenced military exercises in the sea area of Addu City.
MNDF began the maritime military exercises 05 nautical miles south of S. Gan at 09:00 this morning.

MNDF stated that the exercises are scheduled to proceed from 09:00 to 12:00 today and tomorrow. MNDF noted that the bullets used in these exercises will travel a distance of 9,000 meters from 05 nautical miles south of S. Gan, and the altitude the bullets will travel is 100 meters.
As part of a series of maritime military exercises conducted to enhance MNDF's capabilities, public announcements are always made well in advance before starting the exercises. This is for the purpose of bringing it to the attention of vessels traveling through the area.
