Attention: Military training at sea off Hulhumale' this month!

The Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation has stated that the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) has informed them of their decision to conduct military training exercises at sea off Hulhumale' later this month.

In an announcement released today to notify the public, the Ministry stated that MNDF has informed them that military training exercises will be conducted from the 23rd to the 27th of this month, every day from 06:00 to 17:30, at sea 07 nautical miles off the east coast of Hulhumale'. The Ministry also disclosed details stating that airspace will be used during the training.

Details of airspace usage during the training:

• Maximum distance of airspace usage: 5000 meters

• Maximum altitude of airspace usage: 500 meters

• Minimum altitude of airspace usage: Sea level

According to the Ministry, 'machine guns' will be used as weapons in this training.

Having announced that military training exercises will be conducted at sea 07 nautical miles off the east coast of Hulhumale', the Ministry has urged seafarers travelling through this area on the days of the training to exercise caution while navigating.
