Attention: Lagoon area between Official Jetty and Local Market closed to vessels!

The lagoon area between the Official Jetty and the Local Market has been closed to vessels to commence the practical work of the government's project to modernize the northern side of Boduthakurufaanu Magu in Male'.

The Ministry of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure has announced that since the practical work of widening and modernizing Boduthakurufaanu Magu is scheduled to begin in the lagoon area adjacent to the fish market, vessels are generally advised not to enter, exit, or use the seawall in that area starting today for the duration of the work. The Ministry stated that marine vessels will not be able to enter the area while the project works are ongoing. The Ministry did not specify how long the lagoon will be closed.

To commence the practical work of the government's project to widen the northern side of Boduthakurufaanu Magu in Male' into a 4-lane road and modernize it, a section between the Official Jetty and the Local Market has been closed, and changes have also been made to the traffic route.

The Ministry has requested the cooperation of the general public in this work. The Ministry stated that it deeply apologizes for the difficulties caused by this.
