The deadline to complete the fisheries basic information survey form conducted by the Ministry of Fisheries and Ocean Resources will expire next Tuesday.

As part of the efforts to plan, manage, and monitor the various types of fisheries conducted in the Maldives, this survey is conducted annually by the Fisheries Ministry to collect basic information and understand the extent of Maldivian citizens' involvement in different types of fisheries across the islands of the Maldives. Through this survey, it has been decided to collect basic information on individuals involved in fishing and the preparation of fish products in all inhabited islands of the Maldives.

This survey is conducted via a Google Form prepared under the name "Fisheries Basic Information Survey". The Ministry has requested that this form be completed before 12:00 PM on Tuesday, April 29, 2025. All parties involved in the fisheries industry in various regions of the Maldives are required to fill out this form. This includes those engaged in pole-and-line and handline tuna fishing, as well as reef fishing, grouper fishing, billfish fishing, sea cucumber fishing, diamondback squid fishing, live bait fishing and selling, octopus and lobster fishing, and recreational fishing. Additionally, parties that boil, dry, and salt various types of fish, those who cook rihaakuru (fish paste), and those who process fish to supply to third parties are also required to fill out this form.
