A White Alert has been reissued for six northern atolls due to forecasts of rain.
Predicting heavy rain and thunderstorms from HA to B atoll, the first White Alert was issued at 06:45 this morning. That alert expired at 11:30.
Alert: Rain Expected Today in Northern Atolls
The Met Office issued another White Alert at 12:00. The White Alert for the northernmost six atolls is valid until 17:00. This alert also states that heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected.
Forecasting the weather for the next 24 hours, the National Meteorological Centre said that while some islands may experience showers, the weather will generally be fine. The Met Office also stated that winds will be from the west and northwest at speeds between 5 to 15 miles per hour, and seas will be moderately rough. Wave heights are expected to be between 3 and 5 feet.
