A trolling FAD dedicated to sports fishing has been deployed off S. Hulhumeedhoo.
The Fisheries Ministry team deployed the FAD today 5 miles east of the island. The FAD number is R09V02-01.

The establishment of this trolling FAD will further develop fishing in the area, and provide great convenience to the fishermen of the area, especially young fishermen and those involved in sports fishing.
Establishing trolling FADs is an important work being carried out under the government's fisheries development policy. The ministry is also working on establishing FADs in various regions of the Maldives in the future.
