95% of Gadhdhoo harbour development project completed

Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC), the contractor for the GDh. Gadhdhoo harbour development project, has stated that 95% of the project work is completed.

Providing an update on the project today, MTCC stated that the installation of bollard lights and work on the ramp area designated for hauling vessels are currently underway. MTCC also noted that 95.23 percent of the overall project work has now been completed.

The Gadhdhoo harbour project was awarded to MTCC on a design and build basis on December 21, 2021. The MVR 38.4 million project was awarded to be completed within 365 days. MTCC commenced the practical work of the project in May 2022.

Under this project, dredging operations of 23,017 cubic meters of the harbour basin, construction of a 320-meter quay wall, and a 35-meter revetment are included. Additionally, the construction of a 232-meter breakwater, a 320-meter scouring apron, a 1,600-square-meter harbour pavement, a bridge measuring 26 meters in length and two meters in width, as well as the installation of streetlights and navigational lights, are included.
