The National Meteorological Service (MET Office) has advised all parties, especially seafarers, to exercise caution as strengthening Southwest Monsoon conditions combined with weather systems in the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal bring heavy rain and rough seas to the Maldives.
Dense clouds forming west of the country are moving over the atolls, with widespread rain and heavy downpours expected across various islands over the next 24 hours.
