The Ministry of Fisheries, Agriculture and Ocean Resources has urged as many fishermen and vessel captains (keyolhun) as possible to participate in a special awareness session tonight regarding the submission of electronic logbooks (E-logbooks) via the "Keyolhu" application.
The online session will take place via Zoom starting at 20:00 hrs tonight. Participants can join directly using the Ministry's online link.
The "Keyolhu" application serves as the core digital hub of the Maldives Fisheries Information System, seamlessly connecting fishermen, vessel owners, fish purchasing facilities, and relevant government authorities within a single network. In addition to providing and renewing fishing licenses, the system enables the digital management and tracking of fishing trips and daily catch data.
Tonight’s session will primarily focus on:
Using the E-Logbook: Step-by-step instructions on recording and submitting catch data electronically during fishing trips.
Sustainable Fisheries: The importance of maintaining catch metrics and detailed logs to support sustainable fisheries management.
Application Services: Key platform features, including registering in the National Registry of Fishermen, managing crew lists, and tracking fish sales.
The Ministry of Fisheries, Agriculture and Ocean Resources encourages all captains and fishermen involved in tuna fishing to join tonight's virtual session via the provided online link.
