The government has announced the resumption of its flagship "Ahaa" public forum series following a year-long hiatus since July 14, 2025, with Minister of Fisheries, Agriculture and Ocean Resources Ahmed Shiyam scheduled to take center stage to field public inquiries on sector reforms and agricultural portfolio updates.
Organized by the President’s Office in partnership with state broadcaster Public Service Media (PSM), the upcoming two-hour live forum will air tomorrow, Sunday, September 27, 2026, at 9:00 PM. Minister Shiyam will feature on the panel alongside Minister of Homeland Security, Labour and Technology Ali Ihusaan and Minister of Sports Abdulla Rafiu.
The session marks Minister Shiyam’s third panel appearance in the "Ahaa" series:
April 29, 2024 (3rd Session): Addressed foundational questions regarding national fishing industry financial stability.
May 12, 2025 (5th Session): Provided progress reports on land-based ice plants, localized fish-processing capacity expansions, and state disbursements to commercial vessel operators.
September 27, 2026 (Upcoming): Set to address queries covering pelagic and demersal fisheries management, processing infrastructure updates, and the ministry's expanded agricultural portfolio following the institutional merger earlier this year.
Originally introduced as a key presidential pledge by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu to maintain open government communications every two months, the revived platform allows citizens to submit questions live via official Facebook and X handles or through direct call-in lines managed by PSM.
