The Maldives Meteorological Service (Met Office) has issued a White Alert spanning from Shaviyani Atoll to Addu City, forecasting wind gusts of up to 40 mph.
The advisory remains in effect today from 11:30 to 16:30 hrs.

According to the authority, heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected across the region during this period. With gusts forecast to reach 40 mph, mariners in particular have been urged to exercise caution.
Additionally, the Met Office forecast that unsettled weather will persist nationwide over the next 24 hours, bringing squalls of up to 45 mph and rough seas.
With adverse weather conditions anticipated over the next two days, authorities have urged everyone—especially seafarers—to remain vigilant and pay close attention to weather updates.
