The Secretariat of the North Miladhunmadulu Foakaidhoo Council has officially announced the opening of competitive bidding to lease three plots of land for commercial sea cucumber harvesting and salted fish processing operations.
According to the council's announcement, three plots measuring 40 feet by 40 feet each are available under a 15-year lease agreement. The base rate for proposals is set at MVR 1.60 per square foot. To assist operators with facility setup, winning bidders will receive a five-month rent-free grace period before monthly lease payments commence.
Interested parties must purchase a bid dossier for MVR 500.00 and complete registration by depositing the fee into the council’s designated revenue account before 12:00 PM on Tuesday, September 15, 2026.
As stated by the Foakaidhoo Council, a pre-bid information session will be held at the council secretariat on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at 10:30 AM. Final bid submissions and the public bid opening will follow at the council office on Sunday, September 20, 2026, at 10:30 AM.
