"Farolhu Ranger" Vessel Introduced to Safeguard Sh. Farolhu Protected Area

The Ministry of Environment, Climate Change and Technology has announced the official arrival of the "Farolhu Ranger" vessel, specifically custom-built to oversee, manage, and safeguard the Sh. Farolhu Protected Area.

With the deployment of this vessel, a dedicated team of trained rangers will soon commence active monitoring, routine patrols, and surveillance across the protected zone. The primary goal of this continuous monitoring is to preserve and sustain the natural habitats, fragile ecosystems, and native biodiversity of Sh. Farolhu.

According to the Ministry, this conservation initiative is being carried out under the "CATENATE" project. The project is implemented with financial assistance from the Global Environment Facility (GEF) and technical support from the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).

The Ministry of Environment, Climate Change and Technology noted that further operational details regarding scheduled patrol routines and conservation activities for the Sh. Farolhu Protected Area will be shared in the coming days.
