GDh. Hoandedhdhoo Council has issued a stern warning to boat owners and operators following repeated violations of harbor management regulations, emphasizing that non-compliance will lead to immediate legal action.
According to the council, several vessels have been docked in direct violation of established rules, causing severe obstructions for harbor users. Authorities highlighted particular concern over vessels blocking areas designated exclusively for passenger embarkation and disembarkation.
Harbor Clearance Mandates
To ensure public safety, smooth operations, and unobstructed access, the council has established strict clearance parameters across key harbor zones:
Passenger Stairs: All harbor ladders and stairways must remain completely clear, with vessels maintaining a minimum distance of 15 feet on both sides of every stair.
Cargo Ramps: Vessels must leave a clearance zone of 10 feet on both sides of all designated cargo loading and unloading ramps.
Water Outlets: Vessels docked near the harbor jetty water taps must maintain a distance of at least 20 feet from the water supply points.
Strictly Enforced Penalties
The council reiterated that strict enforcement measures will be taken against non-compliant vessel owners under the official Harbor Maintenance and Management Regulations.
The public notice serves as a final directive to all vessel operators utilizing the GDh. Hoandedhdhoo harbor to immediately adjust their docking practices and ensure full compliance with the guidelines.
