Yellow alert issued for Haa Alifu Atoll to Thaa Atoll

The Maldives Meteorological Service (MET) has issued a Yellow Alert spanning from HA. Atoll down to Th. Atoll, warning of deteriorating weather and hazardous marine conditions.

The critical alert is effective from 19:30 hrs today until 00:30 hrs tomorrow.

Forecasters expect sustained strong winds between 25 and 30 miles per hour, with violent gusts potentially reaching up to 50 miles per hour, generating very rough seas.

Given the immense hazards posed to vessel stability and passenger safety, authorities have urged all seafarers to exercise extreme caution and halt non-essential travel in the affected zones.
