Out of the 17 ice plants operated by Fenaka Corporation, 12 ice plants have been handed over to the Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company (MIFCO).
As part of the measures being taken to reduce Fenaka's expenses, the company decided to halt the construction and operation of ice plants starting from 1 August 2024. Fenaka made this decision after reaching an agreement with the relevant ministries.
Following this decision by Fenaka, the Fisheries Ministry has been taking the lead in the process of handing over the ice plants operated by the company to MIFCO. Sharing the latest information on this matter with "Keyolha", State Minister of the Fisheries Ministry Mohamed Muthalib stated that 12 ice plants have been handed over to MIFCO so far.
